Use the up and down arrows near the top right to jump from month to month. For example, have you tried clicking it? It displays a pop-up panel that contains a calendar for the current month. The clock at the right side of the taskbar is the key and it does more than you might think.
Microsoft Calendar syncs with Google Calendar and others.
